Private networks and network slices – although with tailored configurations, often come with limited resources that need to be dynamically managed as needed by the vertical applications/services. Today’s commercial networks do not provide customers the flexibility to manage the quality/priority among their devices and services.


The Solution

Network Exposure

he Network Exposure Function (NEF) is a 5G Standalone (SA) core function defined by 3GPP for exposing network capabilities such quality of service (QoS) control, among others, to external entities via standard 3GPP Nnefapplication programming interfaces (APIs) and an API security framework. To make it even simpler for developers to access such capabilities, platforms like Nokia’s Network as Codecan be integrated as a middle layer for API exposure and translation, in line with GSMA Open Gateway.

Whether it is via standard 3GPP APIs or Open APIs like CAMARA, authorized applications will be able to access network capabilities such QoS control, among others. Nokia’s Network as Code also includes a software development kit (SDK)developer-friendly interfaces to support vertical industries in their service innovation journey and easily interact with the network.
